BookCore is designed as a local-first app. Your library, written notes, and reading statistics are stored primarily on your device. BookCore does not operate a user account system and does not copy your personal notes to BookCore-owned cloud servers for storage, reading, or sale to third parties.
To use camera or gallery text extraction, BookCore requests access to your camera and photo library. Page images may be sent securely to third-party AI services (such as Google Gemini) solely to extract text (OCR / note detection) and return results to your device. BookCore does not use those images to build a permanent BookCore server-side archive of your library. Processing is subject to the privacy practices of those AI providers.
BookCore may offer optional references to third-party services (for example Wikipedia summaries for names or concepts). Those sites have their own privacy policies. BookCore is not responsible for their content or tracking practices. In-app purchases are processed by Apple App Store and/or Google Play according to their terms.
To improve reliability, we may collect limited anonymous technical data that does not directly identify you (for example device model or OS version) for performance and crash diagnosis.
